Alta Valtellina is situated in the heart of the Retiche Alps at the borders of both Switzerland and Austria. The morphological
characteristics as well as climatic conditions of this area characterized its
history and lifestyle.
Bormio and its valleys created a

which is called "Magnificent earth." Thanks to its strategical position, this

Tourism develops on an area whose main natural attractions are Stelvio National
Park, which is a pleasant oasis for mountain hiking lovers, the big sking plants
and high level slopes for the most demanding skiers and the Stelvio glacier,
which allows skiing also in the warmer months of summer.
Besides, the offer is
increased thanks to the many popular traditions, such as traditional handicrafts
and cooking events which enrich the warm hospitality of Valtellina area.
